Prior to becoming a Registered Home Inspector, John has been a Carpenter, Builder, Renovator and did Restorations for over twenty five years.  And still uses his skills, when time allows.  As mentioned earlier, John has 15yrs experience with completing Professional Home Inspections under the CAHPI (Canadian Associations of Home & Property Inspections) qualifying him as a Registered Home Inspector and is now a National Certificate Holder with all the rights, privilages and obligations in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of the National Certification Authority . 
 

  Choosing the Best Inspector & Our Fee;

Pricing varies from company to company. However, we do not recommend choosing an inspection company simply due to their price. Some inspection companies carry no insurance coverage, or possess inadequate qualifications for a low price. While other companies overcharge to cover their overhead and advertising.  We recommend the following three qualifications:

  1. They carry Errors & Omissions Insurance

  2. They are a CAHPI Member (Registered Home Inspector)

  3. They have more than 3 to 4 years experience

To us, these are all essential. The average home inspection with Pettigrew Property Inspections costs $300.00 to $400.00. The price varies depending on the square footage of the home and the maintenance of the property.
And finally, the question remains, "Can you really afford not to have an inspection done on your future home?"
Insurance;

Pettigrew Property Inspections is fully covered by "Errors and Omissions Insurance" and has been for fifteen years.  John has never had to file a claim in all his years as a home inspector.  E & O Insurance is also known as Professional Liability Insurance and covers professional Home Inspectors for negligent acts which may occur from the professional services offered by the inspector.                                     John's record is 100% clean.
